VALUES IN THE CLASSROOM

Educational intervention in a high school through art and design to promote civic values and group belonging feelings.

Co-habitation in the high school was one of the most difficult challenges the institution wanted to solve during 2022 due to the diversified background of the students. The  week-long workshop focused on visual language and symbols to represent the values of the classroom. The class was divided in groups and each group had to discuss what values to represent and how to represent them.

The students were reluctant at first but after some initial activities they engaged with the workshop and worked in groups using critical thinking and creative thinking to represent themselves.

Group belongingness and new networks among the students were built during and after the workshop.
