Hola! I'm Maria Fernandez-Osso,

​Multidisciplinary researcher and designer with 9+ years of experience on both freelance and agency sides. I combine my professional career with my career in research and Academia. I have a PhD in Business & Management at Maynooth University (Ireland), funded by the European Commission Horizon2020 GoGreenRoutes project.

I am interested in design for wellbeing, combining my design and creative skills with my analytical eye, critical thinking and problem-solving. I have worked with a variety of clients and partners leading the design and branding but also creating the marketing strategy for them. Some of them are Ok Mentor, Mind Manchester, United Nations, STEM Passport for Inclusion, Manchester Metropolitan University, ActiveWin, Manchester Film Weekender, etc.

My interest in community wellbeing and the impact of design led me to explore these connections through a variety of workshops and projects. I'm highly passionate in my daily life, which translates into my love for communication design and problem-solving through creativity. My research focuses on marketing and advertising communication,  digital placemaking, place branding and its effects in mental health and sustainability.

High proficiency in Adobe programmes such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Lightroom, Acrobat and Premiere Pro. Motion graphic skills (After Effects), UI/UX (Adobe Xd and Figma). Basic understanding of Python, SQL and HTML.
