PAGE IMAGES-MFW.jpg

Film scene inspired posters for Manchester Film Weekender (MFW).

Brief:

Visual identity for the film screening posters. Creation of branding for posters of the Japanese Season.

#FilmPosterDesign #ArtDirection

Execution:

Different design styles following the seasons and events at MFW.

The Japanese Season was inspired in each films poster, choosing a representative image to help the target identifying the film, as well as introducing colours and shapes inspired on the film.

With the target in mind (45-80 yo and 18-25 yo), I tried to keep the style simple compiling the information easy to understand but also trying to be eye-catchy.

Creative process

I first was asked to design a poster for the screening of Doctor Zhivago. After this, I needed to create a visual language for the Japanese Season. I researched the films and original posters to then create a method for the series. The colour palette was obtained from the original poster, a eye-catching scene from the film would be in the centre to then surround it by an abstract brush texture.
